I have been thinking on how do we refine and transform a rather pedestrian dessert into something worthy of a four-star restaurant? What new techniques can we apply to the original concept? Once manipulated, how do we maintain that reference back to the classic, with or, preferably, without an overblown sense of irony? So, before we do anything, we have to make the original version, without bells and whistles. I am going to show you my creations when it's done, okay?

3rd January 2012 ~ I walked from FLINDERS TO ST. KILDA PIER. What an achievement! It took me 4 hours. I took lots of pictures along the way. And guess what? I saw a baby penguin at St. Kilda Pier. How I wish I can bring it home with me. He is soooo...cute ;)

I bought a book at the 2nd hand book shop~ LITTLE QUEEN MAB by L.C.Silke. It costs more than a new book. I can get a brand new book for only AUD5.00 at Pay4less bookshop. This particular old book costs me AUD15. Expensive, huh? It's a very old book published in 1900. I was not even born! I am currently reading it. When I can't sleep at night, I'll wake up and continue reading.

4th January 2012 ~ I went to Williamstown. There was a bicycle tournament. Then, I took the train to Yarra Ville. Went to the Post Office to buy a GET WELL SOON card and a storybook~ LITTLE MIRACLES by Giselle Green. That book costs AUD5.99.

5th January 2012~ I had lunch at Swanston Street. I also visited the Post Office and bought a WORD SEARCH PRESTIGE PUZZLES. I love keeping myself busy in the trains and trams while waiting for it to arrive at my desired destination.

I also walked to DOCKLANDS :) I wish I have all the money in the world to do all the things I want to do without worrying about my savings depleting. You should see how beautiful the boats are. BREATHLESS!

I am going to spend my SUMMER in a very delightful way :) Well...I can't travel any further, right? I am still unwell. So, I MUST ENJOY HOME AS MUCH AS I CAN FOR NOW :)

I am dressed in a dark pink Lycra T-Shirt and a pair of jeans. I am going to take a walk to SOUTH YARRA in a while. But before that, I am going to CBD for lunch. I miss NASI GORENG KAMPUNG. I know...you might say that I miss home. But seriously, I DON'T MISS HOME. I am currently at home. Where I am right now is HOME. I just miss the food of my past. And everytime I miss it, I'll either cook it myself or go to a restaurant that serves it. That is also why I love to share recipes in this blog of mine. It's because to enjoy a plate of NASI GORENG KAMPUNG isn't cheap. Especially for students who are supposed to live on a budget.

You know what? I saw a good motivation book at THE ATRIUM FEDERATION SQUARE last weekend. It is in a bookshop opposite a line of cafe. There was a Book Market there last Sunday. If I'm not mistaken, it costs AUD12.90. I want to find that book. It is so simply written but it's good. Very good. If I have that book with me, I can share the knowledge with all of you who God sends here as my secret readers.

How's your New Year so far? Me, I am still ill. Having some coughs at night, still having flu and pains in the joints. Perhaps that's because of the flu. I am wondering when I'll get well. I hope soon. The weather is becoming scorching hot here. I am not used to this kind of heat. I surely miss Winter, Autumn and Spring.

If yesterday, I spent reading my novel at THE PARLIAMENT GARDEN, I'm going to choose another garden to enjoy my evening today. I took some pics whilst I was there. I'll upload it here for you to see when I have the time, okay?

AL-BASMALAH :)

A friend of mine asked me what is the meaning of Al-Basmalah. And why is it that I begin with Basmalah before doing anything in my life?

Okay, Basmalah is the saying of a prayer that I say everyday, everytime before I start working, reading, sleeping, anything at all.

It sounds like this~ BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM.
It means: In the name of ALLAH, the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful.

I believe that it is a good thing for all of us to try to understand each other's religion and beliefs. There is nothing wrong about it.

Winter is close. The weather is getting colder now. I cannot wait to enjoy winter. I LOVE WINTER. Where should I go to enjoy my school holidays this winter? Any suggestion? I plan to take a ride on PUFFING BILLY. Sounds interesting, huh? I hope and pray may I will be well by then. I really miss enjoying myself and I MISS SMILING.

One more place I want to visit is VENICE. I believe that I have to go there before it sinks. * naughty giggles*

He'd do almost anything to try to make me happy. Yet he deserves happiness, too. But I seriously don't know why good people mostly end up having idiots as parents. Sorry for my language. I am not that stable yet, I am always angry at the hypocrites around me. I am still not feeling well, I cannot stand too long nor can I walk long distance. It is still very painful inside. I baked these cupcakes before I had my oh-so-painful operation last week. Maybe, if you have some free time, you can try your hands baking some and share them with your love ones. Please..please..please pray for good recovery, yeah? No matter what your religion is, I trust that we share the same GOD. THE AL-MIGHTY. We come from the same place, the same GOD created us and we will all be going back to HIM at the end of the day. And that is why, I respect and love everyone irregardless of their religions.



Here is the recipe :) It is nice to enjoy them with a cup of Earl Grey Tea or your choice of favourite coffee. I am planning to take up the Barista Course end of this year when the school is having its long holidays.

ADEN'S CUPCAKES

125g unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup castor sugar
2 whole eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Fresh Milk
walnuts, chocolate chips, cherries and any dried fruits of your choice for decorations.

Methods:

* beat the butter and sugar until it turns fluffy and whitish. Then, add eggs one at a time.

* In a separate bowl, sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Then, add them to the egg mixture.

* After that, pour in the milk into the mixture and mix well.

*Last but not least, stir in walnuts / chocolate chips/ cherries/ any dried fruits of your choice.

p/s- If you prefer it to have a chocolate taste, add 2 Tablespoons of Hershey's Cocoa Powder to the mixture. And if you would like to have some strawberry flavour, you may add in the strawberry emulco. It would be great to enjoy this soft cupcakes with your friends and love ones.

My beloved soulmate cooked the above dish for me 2 days ago. That was what I had for dinner. When I asked him for the recipe to be shared with my darling blog readers, he said,"I think you should not put that recipe up yet. I want to try again and improvise it."

And I wish that I could help heal my broken heart with love, prayers and laughter. I miss laughing from the heart. Do you know that if taking vitamins doesn't keep you healthy enough, try more laughter from the heart? It helps... Try that. Go out with some good friends and laugh. Make sure it is a happy sincere laugh coming from your heart. Not the pretentious smiles and laughs. It'll reduce your stress and increase the oxygen levels in your blood. It'll eventually makes you feel great. Please pray may my cake turns out fine. I'll put up the pics here later and if it tastes great, I'll share the recipe with you. I'm Exhausted!

It's 6.57p.m. and guess what? I am too sleepy and exhausted. But, I HAD A VERY COLOURFUL DAY :) I enjoyed doing what I did today. I cannot wait for tomorrow. Oh my..I should have done this long time ago. Why haven't I thought of it before? Anyway, it is never too late. ENJOY ADEN!

I bought cupcakes mixtures for Carol. We can't find those mixures in Malaysia. So, I bought three boxes for her. Beautiful cupcakes ;)BAKE CAROL! Have fun de-stressing.

JUST ARRIVED!

:::In the name of ALLAH, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful::: ~PATIENCE IS VITAL~ Alhamdulillah, I have safely arrived at my destination @ 6.15 a.m. Checked in the hotel, took my bath and slept. Yup, slept all the way till 2.05p.m. It is 2.44p.m. where I am now. I have just completed my Zohor & Asar prayers & qada' Maghrib, Isyak and Subuh. Syukur, Alhamdulillah. Now, it is time for me go out there hunting for food!!! I am starving! Well...that's a little bit exaggerating.

To be honest, I was in pain throughout the flight. Even now I am in pain. But InsyaALLAH, I will be fine. Like I always say to myself when I am really down," SEMUA KEADAAN TELAH DITENTUKAN OLEH ALLAH SWT DAN KITA SEBAGAI MANUSIA HARUS AKUR DENGAN APA YANG DITETAPKAN OLEH-NYA.

That sounds easy. It's not as easy as it sounds. I am honest here.
